Primaquine Phosphate Tablets IP<\/strong> belong to the class of antimalarial medicines. They are widely used for the treatment and prevention of malaria, especially for the radical cure of Plasmodium vivax<\/em> and Plasmodium ovale<\/em><\/strong> infections, which can remain dormant in the liver and cause relapses.<\/p>\n

Mechanism of Action:<\/h3>\n

Primaquine acts against the hypnozoite (dormant liver stage)<\/strong> of malaria parasites, thereby preventing recurrence. It also shows activity against gametocytes, reducing malaria transmission.<\/p>\n
